Built in 1895 the Metropole Hotel (it will celebrate its 110th anniversary in 2005) is the only hotel from the 19th century in Brussels. It is characterised by the quality of its service and its internal decoration. In fact, the main entrance has been decorated in French renaissance style, the reception hall in Empire style and some rooms in Art Deco style. In April 2002, the Council of Monuments and Sites of Region of Brussels-Capital has protected the Métropole Hotel's façade as well as the ground floor.
