The old Dutch city of Leiden has an important culture historic value and the monumental façades and the canals are a joy for the eyes. amsterdam and the Hague are both located close by.
Flower Park Keukenhof
In spring you can enjoy the blooming tulip fields by Lisse in the bulb flower area. The Keukenhof, an attractive park of more than 32 hectares with more than 7 million flower bulbs, is open each spring.
Flower parade
The flower parade of Rijnsburg is held in Rijnsburg, Katwijk and Noordwijk each year in August. The more than 50 floats and many music bands travel through these towns like a colourful ribbon.
Lakes Kagerplassen
In summer the most popular destination aside from the beach are the Kagerplassen, where you can make a boat trip. The Kagerplassen are an eldorado for lovers of sailing, canoe, rowing, waterskiing and fishing. More than 150 open boats can be hired here.

Katwijk
A stay in Hotel Noordzee Katwijk means enjoying the fresh air, the beach and the sea. There are many possibilities in Katwijk: walking, cycling, painting on the beach, visiting the Katwijk Museum or one of the many attractions. Katwijk offers peace and space on the 4,5 km long beach; even on the busiest days there's always a quiet spot available. Directly in front of the hotel lies a beach an just around the corner, there is a cosy shopping-centre with many boutiques. In the near surroundings of Katwijk you will find a widespread sand dunes and nature area.
In summer life mainly happens on the beach and the promenade 'Boulevard'. Various restaurants, terraces and beach pavilions welcome you warmly. Directly behind the Boulevard there is a lively but cosy shopping promenade with many charming shops. Autumn and winter are pre-eminently suitable for getting a breath of fresh air and to enjoy the peace and quiet. Youngsters, older people, families with children or groups, there's something for everyone in each season.
